Shannon of Four Paws says:
I enjoy using Pet Adoption Portal to upload the pets' photos to all of the major pet adoption websites. It really saves time and it's easy to use... I can see on [one of the web sites] that there are a good amount of hits. So all the exposure is great!
It has saved me time because I do most of my computer duties at my real job, so it allows me to get back to work without taking the time to upload to several sites! I have been doing the computer/emailing duties since 10/2006, and I do think the adoptions via internet have increased, though I do not know the stats from before I took over.
Wendy of Magic Happens Rabbit Rescue says:
I am Wendy, founder of Magic Happens Rabbit Rescue of Baton Rouge, LA. Our group is very thankful for the Pet Portal, particularly because I am solely responsible for all of our pet biography accounts as well as our regular website! It is so nice not to have to update changes such as spay surgery dates or pending adoptions to each of the individual websites, and especially having to copy and paste each pet profile to the next every time we get a new pet.
Because we have more time to devote to our own website, we are able to focus on other things such as resources for our rabbit adopters, who often don't know where to turn for "updated" information on rabbit care. Our adopters are very excited about what we have been able to do, and we are thrilled with all of our exposure! We have recommended the Portal to other rescue groups and will continue to do so - thank you Pet Portal for helping rescues in a way no other group has!
Pat Knudson of HALT says:
Thank you for the opportunity to tell you how much we appreciate the added publicity Pet Portal has afforded us. We couldn't possibly have found the time to update all the sites every ten days! Now our phone is ringing forty or more times a day....
Deb of Paws for Love says: Since partnering with the Pet Adoption Portal, our group, Paws For Love Cat Rescue, has seen a dramatic increase in our adoption rate. We went from maybe 1 or 2 adoptions per week, to finding homes for up to 11 cats in the same time frame. As a small group of only 7 people, we are very excited about the results we've had! We're contacted daily by prospective adopters who saw our kitties on web sites that we weren't even aware we were listed. It's wonderful!
And it has been a real time saver to be able to key in the information only once. Thanks Pet Adoption Portal for making it so easy to get maximum exposure for our animals--thus saving more lives!
We thank you, and the kitties thank you!
Debby of Clay County Animal Shelter says:
I have nothing but good things to say about the Pet Adoption Portal. Rescuing and placing animals is a never ending job. There are always more out there needing good homes. Pet Adoption Portal to the rescue! Prior to signing up with them the tedious job of listing the animals to various on-line rescue lists was really a chore. Now, with one listing I can get my animals onto all the lists at one time!
...if only ALL tech support were this fast and friendly the world would be a much better place! That minor hurdle overcome, I went to 'Add A Pet' and was pleasantly surprised to find out how user friendly it was.
I liked the fact that there was a list of names to choose from. Most of the animals that come into our shelter are strays and I am just not that imaginative, so the list was helpful. Choosing a species and breed couldn't be easier. One thing I do, however, wish was that they had a "Heinz" breed category. When you cross a 'mutt' with a 'mutt' it gets impossible, sometimes, to decide what the dog really might be! that said, the rest of the form is a snap to fill out. I also like the fact that you can show up to three pictures of the animal.
The Pet Adoption Portal has made a time consuming job much easier, thus leaving more time to concentrate on the actual placing of the animal in kind and loving homes. Our adoption rates have risen considerably thanks to the added exposure.
Thanks Pet Adoption Portal. Job well done!
Dayna of Where Wolves Rescue says:
Hi, I was contacted last year by Rescue groups .org about using their program to facilitate uploading animals to various websites for adoption purposes. I agreed and started right away. It was SOOO easy!! in fact it's easier to keep ALL the sites updated than it is to keep our own website updated! So I would heartily recommend the use of Rescue Groups.org! they are making my time on the internet shorter and giving many more animals a chance at finding new homes because of the ease and versatility of their program, and the exposure that these animals so desperately need to find new homes. I have also been very happy with the quality of people adopting animals from the sites that the pet portal posts them on. They are good and reputable adopters and I haven't encountered anyone trying to misuse or abuse animals coming through any of these channels. Excellent Experience.
Kim of Fast Paws Haven Rescue says:
I have been working with just [one web site] and then I got the email from Pet Portal which not only allowed me to still use [that web site] but also [additional sites]! It's so easy... you only have to add and change information on one site and it updates all the sites!!! I have adopted pets to Canada, NJ, Tenn., FL, Kentucky, VA, GA, NC and my own state SC! This is just a wonderful aid in helping to find deserving Pets their Forever Homes! Thanks for all you do to help me help my rescue pets find wonderful forever homes!
Herta of Pasadena Humane Society and SPCA says:
I do know that this work is very important, it is crucial and does save lives. To list the animals on just one site does save a lot of time and I feel the Pet Adoption Portal does an incredible service to the animals. That says it All!
Ben of Kitten Rescue says:
The Pet Adoption Portal has been a godsend for our group. It has been a tremendous timesaver. It has greatly simplified the task of managing our voluminous pet listings, and the staff have been very responsive to our questions and suggestions. I can't imagine what it would be like to go back to managing each pet listing site individually!
Gail of Heartland Weimarner Rescue says:
I know we are one of just a few rescues that have multiple sites [on the adoption web sites]... HUGE time saver, its saves me 3 to 4 hours a week... EASY. That's just one place. Thanks Again!
Tera of Zara's List Animal Rescue says:
As a rescue who has used the internet as a means to help place homeless animals for the past 5 years, the Pet Adoption Portal is a dream come true. As a busy working professional who also dedicates her time to our rescue organization, time is a valued commodity that I often did not have enough of because I would spend countless hours inputting the same animal on several different websites. Over the past few years, the one thing I wished for more than anything was one website that I could input the animal once and it would transmit it to all of the other sites. Low and behold Pet Adoption Portal did just that.
Now, we're on several different websites that we weren't on previously and our adoptions have continued to increase because of the added exposure and yet, we're now spending less time inputting. What a magnificent tool this is and what a difference it has made for our rescue and the animals who are saved because of it.
Sandi of Tender Loving Care Animal Shelter says:
The website & pet lists for Tender Loving Care Animal Shelter in Homer Glen IL are maintained by volunteer help. Daily updates are made to the lists and every Friday the lists are refreshed completely, so the effort involved is considerable. This was very time consuming and more prone to error when the information had to be entered separately to 3 different pet databases as well as the TLC website. The Portal has provided a wonderful tool to update all of our lists quickly, accurately and efficiently. The Portal Staff is always available, and they quickly solve problems involving the database updates. We really appreciate this service!
Susan of Friends of Horseshoe Bend Animal Control says:
I have been delighted by the amount of work rescuegroups.org has saved me by using the Pet Adoption Portal feature. I always posted all our dogs individually on the three major adoption websites, and sometimes it would take me hours if I had a lot of changes to make. Now, I do one posting for each dog, and that's it! It is really freeing up time I can spend on other adoption information sources--- our posters, advertisements, and educating our citizens about the wonderful dogs we have available. We're a small Animal Control Center, and the fact the service is free is truly outstanding. Thanks for helping us spread the word about our great dogs.
Tammy of Perfect Paws Pet Rescue says:
I owe a great deal of thanks to RescueGroups.org. I was only using [one site] for my rescue efforts. I found RescueGroups.org and began using the Pet Adoption Portal. Now using the Pet Adoption Portal, I now am posting to all pet adoption sites available. Our adoptions have increased making it possible for us to save more pets in need. Posting an animal, add or change pictures, updating descriptions are easy and quick to do. RescueGroups.org is constantly upgrading and enhancing the services available. Perfect Paws Pet Rescue, www.perfectpawspetrescue.org has participated in a very positive experience with RescueGroups, and plans to continue to take advantage of their generous knowledge.
Jennifer of Purrfect Cat Rescue says:
Purrfect Cat Rescue began using RescueGroups.org as soon as we received an information email notifying us about it. It has cut down so dramatically the time it takes to upload our cats and kittens to all the different sites, that I was able to turn it over to one of our teenage volunteers who needs some community service hours for school. Our website is also database driven, so not having to do html editing makes the maintenance of it so easy, I can send her a note Sunday evening after all our mobile adoptions are closed, and she can have all the updates pushed out to all three sites within 20-30 minutes.
We get people from up to 75 miles away coming to adopt our cats and kittens, and I honestly believe it is because we are one of the very few rescues in the area who has ALL their available cats and kittens online. Without RescueGroups.org we would never have that visibility, because it would be too time consuming to update 3 other websites in addition to our own. Thanks for this great service you provide!
Jerry of Humane Society of Monroe County says:
Your portal is saving me a lot of time each week. I was only using [two web sites] for all my animals. I was posting only my dogs on [another web site] (we had about 20 dogs). I dreaded the time it was going to take to add my 70 cats to [that other site] and just never did. With your portal, it took my existing pet list and loaded it to this site. Now instead of going to three sites and spending three times the amount of time, I only have to do it once. I would highly recommend to any animal organizations to use your site, especially if they are only currently using one of the three posting sites. I have had very little problems and your site is very quick to respond to e-mails.
